Nigeria Breweries Ends Star Quest Show After 10 Years, Announce New Show


Organizers of Star Quest, the popular music talent show which discovered many stars have rested the TV show after running for 10 years. 

The show which was developed by beverage company Nigerian Breweries birthed in 2002 and saw KC Presh beat now super stars Asa, Psquare, Mr Raw to win the first ever edition.

The show ran for 12 years, not holding in two (including 2013). It produced winners like KC Presh (2002), D’Accord (2006), D’Jewels (2007), Diamonds (2008), The Pulse (2009), JukeBox (2010), D’Beat (2011), and Crystals (2012).

Producers of the show also have announced a new music talent show called ‘The Winner Is’. According to them, Star The Winner Is, combines musical talent with the spontaneity and unpredictability of a game show. It currently airs in the U.A.E, China and Germany, Italy Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. 

Contestants will be judged by 101 in-studio panel of music enthusiasts and specialists and will have the chance to negotiate a deal before hearing their fate. Apart from being a music talent show, Star The Winner Is, will have an unusual twist to it where contestants can negotiate with opponents whether to get out of the contest by walking away with a smaller sum of money or await the result of the jury to see if they proceed in the competition with a chance to win the grand prize of 10 Million Naira and a Car. 

Star The Winner Is kicks off this April with auditions in 5 Major cities across Nigeria including Benin, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Abuja and Lagos.
