Cuba Gooding Jr.’s wife filed for
a separation from the Oscar-winning actor on April 22, after being married
for exactly 20 years.
Cuba Gooding Jr. and his wife
and high school sweetheart, Sara Kapfer, are officially splitting. Sara filed for
a separation in L.A. County Superior Court on April 22, citing irreconcilable
differences.
Sara and Cuba, who said
their “I dos” in 1992, have three children together, two sons named Spencerand Mason, and a daughter named Piper.
According to gossip website TMZ.com, Sara wants joint
legal and physical custody of their children and child support will be determined
at a later date.
Cuba won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Rod Tidwell in Cameron Crowe's 1996 film Jerry Maguire that starred Tom Cruise as his titular sports agent.
Cuba and Sara's eldest
son Spencer was born in 1994 and they also have son Mason born in 1996 and
daughter Piper born in 2005.
