Skales has parted ways
with record label, Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) following the
expiration of his contract which he signed in 2010.
EME boss Banky W confirmed the development to NET. Both
parties have met and reached an agreement.
According to those
familiar with the current situation at the Lagos label, the large part of that
decision was made, based on the fact that the direction of Skales’ music has
considerably changed since he was signed and the label feels their
relationship with the artist may no longer be a profitable.
Though Skales is still
with M.et.tal management, who manages some of the artistes under EME, he has
got nothing to do with them legally. It will be recalled that, Wizkid who has also left EME was sighed the same time with Skales.
