Nigerian Celebrities And Their Cars

Nigerian are used to seeing celerities showing off their new cars on social platforms. Some say it is to show that they have the money to throw around; and to show they are amongst the BIG boys and girls in the business.

Below is a list of the fabulous rides of our celebrities, those that really made news as compiled  by MSN Entertainment.
Porsche: Of course, the first person that comes to mind at the mention of ‘2013 Porsche’ is no other than Wizkid, particularly due to the controversies surrounding his story.

Popular stories had it that Wizkid bought a Porsche Panamera for 15million naira and crashed it after two weeks, then replaced it with a new one.

Another Porsche-rocker – also with controversies – was the prolific Don Jazzy. Bloggers didn’t catch when exactly he bought it, but they sure caught his ‘show off’ on Twitter.

Chairman of the HKN group and Davido’s elder brother, Adewale also acquired a Porsche Jeep.

Range Rover: This should actually come first if this was a ‘most popular’ list. Range Rovers have become the norm amongst celebrities everywhere, and Nigeria is no different. A lot of Range Rovers were bought by Nigerian celebrities in 2013 in different styles.

Peter Okoye, of the singing duo P-Square proposed to his fiancée with a brand new 2013 Range Rover Evoque. Iroko TV boss, Jason Njoku, got his wife, Mary Remmy, a Range Rover Evoque for their second anniversary. Other celebs that bought Range Rovers are Waconzy, Terry G, Pasuma (replaced his stolen Range), Kcee, Olamide, K-Solo, comedian “I Go Save” and the list goes on. Nollywood queen Genevieve Nnaji became Range Rover ambassador for Coscharris Motors early in 2013, so she moves around in one. Yoruba actress Laide Bakare was another star rolling in a Range Rover.

Bentley: Rides can really separate the boys from the men. Few proved to be of higher taste and went for Bentleys. The “Chairman”, M.I Abaga, and later his colleague of Choc City, Ice Prince, made the 2013 headlines with their Bentleys. Other 2013 owners of Bentleys are Kennis Music’s Dayo “D1” Adeneye, 2Shotz, and the Nollywood actor and director, Kunle Afolayan.

Infiniti: The Japanese luxury-vehicle wasn’t left out. A lot of stars also opted for the high-end Infiniti brand. Popular among them were Nollywood living legend, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde who acquired an Infiniti QX56 SUV with a customized plate number, Omo-T.
Iyanya’s manager, Ubi Franklin also copped a QX5, while Solid Star acquired a 2013 Infiniti JX35 which cost over N13Million. Blogger celebrity Linda Ikeji didn’t miss out in the action as she also got an Infiniti FX35.

Mercedes Benz: The Kukere master, Iyanya acquired a Mercedes Benz E350 along with his BMW X6. Praiz acquired a Mercedes E-Class while rapper Sauce Kid (Sinzu) was said to buy two Benz’s. Wande Coal also got himself a Mercedes GL 450 while the rich, young and famous Davido copped a Mercedes Benz G55 AMG.

Prado (Toyota): That which made headlines – almost all controversial – was Annie Idibia’s wedding gift, a Prado Jeep from Gov. Akpabio of Akwa-Ibom State.

Rolls Royce: Words on the street have it that the only Nigerian celebrity that acquired a Rolls Royce in 2013 is superstar comedian “I Go Dye”.

Chevrolet: None other than the always unique “Omo Baba olowo”, Davido bought a Camaro early 2013. His taste for cars is just exquisite.

Hummer: Few months after his metallic Range Rover was stolen, Pasuma confirmed with Punch Newspaper that he acquired a brand new Hummer Jeep (before buying yet another Range), though he refused to unveil it to the world. Perhaps he was afraid of being robbed again.

Opel Insignia: The famous comedian, Basket Mouth, copped a fully-customized Opel Insignia, and he became the first owner of that brand in the African region, according to the makers. He also bought a Honda Crosstour as a birthday gift for his wife. Una do well, bros!
Nigerian celebrities surely do live the lifestyles of the rich and famous, and they rock the costly rides. It’s not just because they can afford it, but more because they deserve it. More grease to their elbows!
