Lil’ Wayne dropped from Mountain Dew campaign

PepsiCo producers of Mountain Dew have dropped rapper Lil’ Wayne as their spokesperson days after his apology to the family of late 14-year-old civil rights icon Emmett Till.

The company’s statement on Friday revealed that they were not pleased by Wayne comparison of Emmett Till to a violent sexual act on Future’s ‘Karate Chop’ remix.
Lil Wayne’s lyrics on the song reads ‘Bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels/Beat that p***y up like Emmett Till’.

Some reports also say Lil’ Wayne’s seizure on Tuesday night was also connected to the split. The unnamed execs reportedly called Wayne a ‘PR nightmare’.
Emmett Till (July 25, 1941 – August 28, 1955) was an African-American boy who was murdered in Mississippi at the age of 14 after reportedly flirting with a white woman.
