PHOTOS - Prof. Chinua Achebe’s Body Arrives In Nigeria


The body of late Nigerian and world renowned author, Professor Chinua Achebe arrived in Nigeria earlier today via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The literary icon, born Albert Chinualumogu Achebe died in Boston, Massachusetts, USA on March 21, 2013, at the ripe old age of 82.

Prof. Achebe’s body arrived in a casket draped in the national colours of Green-White-Green and was received at the airport by government officials led by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.
His coffin was then wheeled first to a church service which held at the airport before proceeding to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
