VIDEO : Miguel jumps and lands on top of a female fan's head at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards

Miguel tried to jump over a group of fans during his performance on Sunday night at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, but his long jump fell short and he landed a young woman.

 The 27-year-old Los Angeles singer was giving a spirited performance of his song Adorn before a live audience in Las Vegas for the music awards.
His right thigh struck a dark-haired young woman and violently cracked her against the stage as he landed on her head and settled on his rear.

The woman disappeared from view after receiving the brunt of the flying leg blow as Miguel remained seated on the stage and put his arm around a blonde woman as he continued singing.

Miguel later posted a message on Twitter about the incident.

It read: 'got caught up in moment, thank goodness Khyati is okay'
