Fire gutted the 22-storey Great Nigeria House along Martins Street on Lagos Island in the early hours of today. State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA and security operatives are currently on ground to manage the situation
Director,
Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe, said he received the distress
call around 6.34 a.m. that the building was on fire but are yet to
confirm the cause of the fire.
The
22-storey Great Nigeria House, acclaimed as the fifth tallest building
in Nigeria, accommodates Mainstreet Bank and also serves as warehouses
to some traders.
