Court tells NDLEA not to pay Baba Suwe N25Million
The Court of Appeal in Lagos today set aside the N25 million compensatory damages earlier awarded Lagos comedian, Babatunde Omidina " Baba Suwe " over a prolonged detention by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) last year.
In the ruling, the Court of Appeal re-affirmed the right of the NDLEA
to investigate, arrest, detain and prosecute drug suspects as long as
the agency acts within the law.

Oprah Winfrey received an honorary doctorate from Harvard University, on Thursday.
The media mogul was obviously deeply touched by the commendation as she accepted the law degree with a few tears brimming in her eyes on the famous campus grounds in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The honour was bestowed upon the 59-year-old talk show host just hours before she was scheduled to give the featured commencement speech for the graduating class of 2013.

Nigerian troops in the Joint Task Forces in Kano today said that investigations into the discovery of weapon cache found in a home occupied by Lebanese foreign nationals in Kano shows that Boko Haram Islamist militants have connections with the Lebanon-based Hezbollah
A press release signed by the spokesman for the JTF Captain Ikedichi Iweha stated that investigations conducted so far shows that there is a local cell of the Hizbollah in Nigeria.

Lynxxx hit with N10m lawsuit for assault
Nigerian hip hop artiste, and Pepsi ambassador, Chukie Edozie, aka Lynxxx, is facing litigation at Igbosere Magistrates’ court for allegedly beating up a UK-based Nigerian businessman, Richard Bennet.
Bennet is asking for N10m damages for assault and battery as Lynxxx and his crew reportedly caused body injuries to Bennet in a fracas at a Lagos night club, Ntycee Lounge and Restaurant.

It’s no crime selling human parts - Suspect
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a grandfather, Mr. Segun Kayode, for allegedly exhuming and selling human parts.
According to the police, the suspect, who works at a cemetery in Epe area of the state, was arrested with a human skull.
Andre 3000′s mum found dead a day after his 38th birthday
Sharon Benjamin-Hodo Mother of singer, actor, and songwriter Andre “3000″ Benjamin was reportedly found dead in her Rex, Ga., home. No details have been provided as to the cause of death, but reportedly, she died on the day after her famous son’s 38th birthday, according to Billboard.
On Tuesday, ambulances and police were seen riding up and down Benjamin-Hodo’s street. Eventually, a close family member confirmed her untimely passing.

Newborn Chinese baby rescued ALIVE from toilet pipe after being flushed away by parents
Firefighters in eastern China have rescued an abandoned newborn baby boy lodged in a sewage pipe.
The infant was stuck in a pipe directly beneath a toilet commode, state television reported, in a case which has sparked anger on social media sites.
There are frequent reports in Chinese media of babies being abandoned, often shortly after birth.
Obosi monarch escapes assassination
The traditional ruler of Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Chidubem Iweka has narrowly escaped assassination at the ever busy Nkpor area near Onitsha. Suspected assassins fired bullets on his Nissan Fortuna, injuring his police orderly and damaging the car in the process.
The traditional ruler’s convoy was returning to Obosi from Asaba, Delta State after dropping him at the airport for a trip to Abuja.

Hours after he was suspended from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, yesterday, solicited prayers from citizens of the state against desperate persons who he claimed were after his life.
The suspension of Amaechi from the party was agreed during an unscheduled and unusually early morning meeting of the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party at the residence of the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.

A 2 storey building housing a popular Lagos strip club, Ocean Blue, located on 14, Opebi Street has collapsed. The building collapsed on Sunday afternoon, around 1.30pm.

Anti-terror police in Kenya have accused the British of ignoring their warnings that Woolwich murder suspect Michael Adebolajo was a dangerous radical.
Adebolajo was arrested in Kenya in 2010 on suspicion of leading a jihadist plot to cross the border into lawless Somalia and join the ranks of the Al Shabaab terrorist group.
But the Kenyans claim that when they presented their evidence to the British Embassy, it was insisted Adebolajo had no criminal record.
