No Summons To Appear In Court Has Been Personally Served On Prophet T.B. Joshua



 

There was a set back yesterday at the Coroner Court investigating the collapse of a guest house within the Synagogue Church of All Nations on September 12, as one of the church’s counsel, Mr Olalekan Ojo, told the court that Prophet T.B. Joshua and the contractor are yet to be served with witness summons. The coroner judge, Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe, had summoned Prophet T.B. Joshua and the contractor to appear before the court yesterday.

His visitors yesterday included former president Olusegun Obasanjo, former vice president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and National chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu.



The ailing former Nigerian leader had, while speaking to journalists when he returned to the country on Saturday, said he was getting better but needed time to rest before talking politics.

Kogi Jail break: 12 Inmates Re-arrested

The Nigeria Prison Service has announced that it has re-arrested 12 inmates out of the 144 that escaped from the Koton-Karfe Prisons, Kogi State, yesterday night.



Unidentified gunmen blew up the prison with explosives late on Sunday, allowing scores of prisoners to escape. Jacob Edi, spokesman for Kogi’s Governor Idris Wada, added: “There were 145 prisoners at the time of the attack.



However, the prison authority through its Public Relations Officer, Ope Fatinikun, told Punch that the 12 inmates have so far been rearrested while the police had begun an investigation into the jail-break.

Dangote Reduces Cement Price



 

Dangote Cement Plc has announced a reduction in the prices of cement with immediate effect.

In the new price regime announced on Sunday by the Group Managing Director, Dangote Cement, Mr. Devakumar Edwin, a 50kg bag of the 32.5 cement grade will now sell for N1,000, while the higher 42.5 grade is to sell for N1,150 per bag instead of the current N1,700 that both grades were going for.
