Nigeria Entertainment Awards 2014 released their nominees list yesterday. Music duo Skuki were nominated in the best new act category. This did not go down well with the duo who found it offensive. They took to twitter to express themselves.

The protest was led by Patience Ozokwor and had in attendance Chinedu Ikedieze, Thelma Okhaz, Mercy Aigbe amongst others.

Boy Murders Parents Because They Took Away His IPhone

16 year old Vincent Parker pleaded guilty to murdering his parents Carol and Wayne Parker last December. The boy says that there was no specific fight that prompted the brutal MURDER. The sadistic killer told authorities, 'I just remember getting mad,' Parker told the court. 'It's all from my dad. All this stuff like my dad taking away my iPod and stuff.'

Nollywood Icon and filmmaker, Amaka Igwe will be buried on June 13, 2014 in Ndiuche Arondizuogu, Imo State, her family has announced. 

There will be a series of events leading to the June 13 funeral, starting with a tribute evening and Lagos Service of Songs at Haven Gardens G.R.A Ikeja on June 8, 2014. There will be a second songs of service holding at Okpara Square, Enugu on June 12. Igwe, 51, who passed away on April 28, 2014 (after suffering an asthma attack), survived by her husband of 21 years Charles Igwe, three children, an aged mother and siblings.

Eyewitness said the explosions shook the entire area causing major panic in the area. The bombs were primed to inflict maximum casualties as they exploded few minutes apart.

A vigil was held in Abuja late on Wednesday marked the 30th day in captivity of the 276 girls held by Boko Haram.

Over 250 people, many of whom have been attending daily rallies for two weeks, came out for the vigil. The event held inside the Thisday Dome. Parents from Chibok were also in attendance and together they all poured out their to God in prayer, and thanked the crowd for the concern.

Tiwa Savage And Wizkid Renew Pepsi Endorsement Deal

The two Pespsi ambassadors, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage have just had their endorsement deals with the global beverage company renewed for another 5 years. 

Tiwa & Wizkid signed on as Pepsi ambassadors two years ago. The multi million Naira deal was initially for a year, but got extended for another year last year (2013). Pepsi took a chance of signing Tiwa back when she hadn’t even released an album, making her the first female act to represent the global brand in Nigeria. 

The deal was negotiated by Paul Okoye of Upfront & Personal and he revealed the news of the contract extension saying, “Best ambassadors by far. Another 5 years Deal for Pepsi. Amen Tiwa and wizzzzzzz.”

Man Exposes Girlfriend Impersonating A Soldier

The 323 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Akure, Ondo State, has arrested a woman, Angela Omieh, for posing as a soldier.

Sets of military uniform, police extract and a sworn affidavit for loss of her military identity card were said to have been found with her.
